Indoor Air Quality Inspections (IAQ)
With COVID-19, more of us were spending an increased amount of time in our homes. It is estimated that this trend will continue. More companies are allowing workers to work remotely. More students are doing distance learning. Therefore, our environment and the air we breathe in our home is more important than ever.
According to the United States Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) website: “Many factors affect IAQ. These factors include poor ventilation (lack of outside air), problems controlling temperature, high or low humidity, recent remodeling, and other activities in or near a building that can affect the fresh air coming into the building. Sometimes, specific contaminants like dust from construction or renovation, Indoor Air Quality, cleaning supplies, pesticides, or other airborne chemicals (including small amounts of chemicals released as a gas over time) may cause poor IAQ.”
What if you do not see anything that looks like Indoor Air Quality? What if you just have a musty odor that won’t go away? Or, what if you or members of your household seem fine when they are away from the home, but get stuffy, running nose, itchy eyes, or other symptoms when home?
